Maintenance Workshop January 9th

Report of previous workshop:

Around a dozen cyclists joined us for our first drop-in maintenance workshop at the Paddington Arts Workshop on Saturday 5 December.

New cyclists had the opportunity to learn some basic maintenance techniques. The more experienced swapped tips and helped each other out. For the real enthusiasts, it was, in the words of one participant, “a chance to play around with bikes”.

The venue provided a great space for maintenance and cleaning, handy for those cyclists who do not have access to a garden or yard of their own.

Ulla Johnson from Maida Vale came along because her mountain bike had a slow puncture in the rear wheel. Not only did she learn how to fix it, but she picked up some handy tips on checking pressure and lubrication.

With the confidence brought by new knowledge and good firm tyres, Ulla declared herself “raring to go” and said that she would recommend the workshop, “an excellent initiative”, to her friends.

The next drop-in maintenance workshop will be held on Saturday 9 January, 10.00-12.00. All are welcome.
