Petition Handover Wed, 01/07/2015 - 6:15pm - 7:00pm

Petition Handover  &  Meeting  &  Meal

We’ll be attempting to hand over the Brent Space for Cycling Petition (signed by about 170 residents) to the Leader of the Council at 6:30pm on Wednesday 1 July. We’d like to have a group there of cyclists of all ages and backgrounds (and of course both sexes) for the photoshoot.
So please make a date in your diary to come, if you can. If you can bring any children on bikes, trailers etc. that would be ideal. Preferably, dress to look like ordinary people, as the message is ‘making cycling accessible to all’. We’ll meet at 6:15pm at the main entrance to the Civic Centre in Engineers Way.
Further information is in the Press Release.
Afterwards, from 7pm, we will hold our regular monthly meeting at Pret a Manger, nearby at Wembley Designer Outlet. Amongst other things, we will be discussing Brent’s Draft Cycle Strategy. All welcome, as usual. And after that, from about 8:30pm, some of us will be going for a meal at Wagamama in the Designer Outlet, and once again, anyone is welcome to join us.
Hope to see as many of you as possible.
Garden Cities Ride Sun, 05/07/2015 - 10:30am - 5:30pm

Garden Cities Ride

Meet at Cricklewood Station at 10.30 to catch the 10.47 to St Albans. This train also calls at Hendon 10.50 and Mill Hill Broadway 10.54, arriving at St Albans City at 11.09.

We then cycle Sustrans Route 61 along the Alban Way to Hatfield, where we join Sustrans Route 12 to Welwyn Garden City, Stevenage and Letchworth Garden City. The route is a mixture of off-road, cycle tracks and minor roads. There is plenty of choice of places to eat at Welwyn Garden City.

At Letchworth we shall have the option to cycle part of the Garden City Greenway before catching the train to Hatfield (hourly at 29 minutes past) and then cycling back along the Alban Way to St Albans, for trains to Cricklewood leaving at 3 and 33 minutes past the hour.
